UNET Ujity Lobby and Matchmaking Question self. I'm wanting to create a simple fps style game, so far I have a start screen, once you umity start it enables the matchmaker and then takes you to a screen where you pick the game mode. For the next part I just need to find matches of the game type e. I know how to do this in terms of joining or hosting a match and going straight in but I want a lobby.
A typical COD style lobby will do for now, basically request a list of matches that are of type FFA or unity steam matchmaking called FFA maybe and then put you into a lobby until 8 players have joined, once that is done then I will start the game. Unfortunately I cant find the correct functions and there doesnt seem to be much on lobbies or im missing it. I just need a helpful push in the right direction, mainly info on starting a lobby or joining one if there is currently a ffa lobby for example.
Well there isn't an actual "lobby" function in UNet, just start all multiplayer games off in a scene that is designed as a lobby. When the game starts with a timer or something you would send all players to the new scene which is the actual game level. There is a feature to help with lobbies, along with an example project https: I don't 1 on 1 matchmaking cost why I hadnt though of that, so just start a match and have that scene as a lobby, wait for the match to have x amount of players and then transition scene?
